What our participants told us about the project:
Eleni Yiannakou: It was a pleasure for me to participate in this amazing experience which was called "ACT BEFORE CLIMATE CHANGE, CHANGE OUR LIFES (ABCCCOL)" and took place in Patra. I made friendships with people of my age from Malta, Poland, Croatia, Greece and Portugal and, with some of them, we still keep in touch. Also, I learned many things about other cultures such their traditional foods, history and dances. At the end of this program, I feel stronger and ready to face the climate change with the help of others. I would like to thank the Acpelia organization in Cyprus for choosing me as one of the participants in this program.
Farmakidou Aikaterini: The Youth Exchange programme "ACT BEFORE CLIMATE CHANGE, CHANGE
OUR LIFES (ABCCCOL)" was quite inspiring for me. It has been an unforgettable
experience with a lot of beautiful moments to remember. The group work
activities cultivated the teamwork skills and enhanced the members'
collaboration. Different people with different cultural backgrounds met in a
place of natural beauty. Both the leaders and the participants interacted with
people from six different countries with different linguistic backgrounds and
competences. As a leader, the ABECCOL Youth Exchange helped me cultivate my
skill of socializing and empathy, think more outside of the box, express my
views and feelings, listen to other people's opinion as well as taste different
cuisines and make new friends. All in all, Acpelia gave me a unique opportunity
to broaden my horizons and get in touch with people of different personalities,
attitudes and cultures.
Charalampos Nikolaou: It was so nice to
participate in that program because I learned new things and met new people.
Also, the activities were wonderful. If I was given the opportunity to
participate in the same programme again, I would definitely do it! It was an
amazing experience.
Konstantin: I really loved the project in
which I participated and took place in Greece, Patra. I broadened my horizons,
I met some amazing people and made some new friends from Greece, Poland, Portugal,
Croatia and Malta. I learned not only lots of new things about the environment
but also about myself. I also really enjoyed the international nights because I
learned a lot about the other countries such as their traditional food, dances
and culture. Last but not least, I would like to thank ACPELIA for choosing me
as a participant for this amazing project.
Georgios Kontogiorgis: For me it was amazing to participate in such project and I made a lot of friendships from different countries as I had amazing experiences with my national team, with the preparation and follow up activities of the project.
Evripides: I had the best time participating in Acpelia's "ABECCCOL" Erasmus programme. As we arrived at the camp all participants were going to stay in tents. We had a mini shock because of the tents and their size Of course, after we had spent a day there, we calmed down. After all, we only slept in the tents. We spent most of the day outside of them. During my time in Patras I've not only learnt about climate change but I also made new friends and I explored a new city. While being there, I contributed to the making of posters and written projects about climate change, its consequences and how to minimize it. In conclusion, after games, group activities, international nights and cultural trips, I made new international friends that I even have contact with until now. I'm really thankful for this opportunity offered to me and I'm looking forward to participating in another programme in the future.
Eleni Papadopoulou: Participating in Acpelia's "Act before climate change, change our lives" was an unforgettable experience. During my time at Kato Alissos Patras, I met a lot of great people with whom I've made wonderful memories to remember. Moreover, through our non-formal education activities I've improved many of my skills such as cooperating with other people. This program also gave us the chance to learn more about each country's culture and traditions. To sum up, participating in this program was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
